Customer app privacy policy

About this notice

WakeupFarms Agritech LLP provides this app. This notice covers the publicly distributed WakeupFarms customer app, including Explore demo farm and sign-in for approved live farm pilot users. Downloading the app does not create an account or grant live farm access. It also covers separate staging tests with simulated motors. Effective 3 October 2026.

Explore demo farm

You can explore a sample farm without signing in. Its readings, garden animation and simulated interactions run locally on your device. Demo interactions are not sent to our service and cannot control a physical motor.

If you previously signed in, the app may restore that saved session when it opens, before Explore is available. Sign out to remove the saved sign-in credential and return to signed-out access.

Information used

We use your email address and app account identifier through Amazon Cognito to sign you in and manage approved farm access. We use the customer name from your assigned farm records. Approved Cognito account profiles also retain an existing name where one was supplied during administrator provisioning; the app has no name-entry form. Your password is entered on Cognito’s sign-in page; the app does not receive or store it. Cognito also processes sign-in device/browser fingerprints, network IP addresses, user-agent information and authentication/token audit events to authenticate accounts and protect access. We process your authorized customer and device identifiers, device label, switch state, measured voltage, power and current, timer settings, observation time and device errors to display farm status. WakeupFarms administrators manage your access grants.

We record motor commands, their outcomes and irrigation workflow progress. Staging commands use simulated motors. The live farm pilot can control the approved motor. Diagnostic and security information is processed to operate and protect the service. The app currently contains no advertising, usage analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Operational records are used to investigate service failures.

Purpose and providers

We use this information to authenticate customers, limit access to assigned farms, display available readings, carry out requested motor commands, show irrigation workflow progress, test the service and investigate failures. App sign-in and cloud processing use Amazon Web Services in the eu-west-1 region (Ireland). Live device readings pass through the farm’s existing EMQX service. Existing irrigation workflows use Google Cloud BigQuery for their verification records. Service providers process data as part of operating those services.

Credentials and storage

The app keeps access tokens in memory and stores its refresh credential in native secure storage on your device. Cloud and broker administrator credentials are held on the server and are not included in the app. App sign-in and farm API connections use HTTPS encryption in transit.

How long information is kept

Application function logs in CloudWatch have seven-day retention. Cognito authentication audit management events are retained in CloudTrail Event History for 90 days. CloudTrail audit exports stored in S3 have no automatic expiry configured and remain until an operator deletes them. These audit records protect account security and help investigate access or service failures. The staging simulated command ledger is configured for seven-day expiry; database cleanup is asynchronous and records can remain briefly after expiry. Live command and workflow cancellation records are configured for 90-day expiry. Device control and reconciliation state remain while the pilot is active. The current observation is replaced as new readings arrive. App account and access-grant records remain while the pilot account is active and are subject to an approved removal request. The underlying farm service has separate records and operations.

Your choices and removal requests

After sign-out completes, the saved sign-in credential is removed from this phone. Signing out does not delete your WakeupFarms account or end every browser session.

To request removal of your app account, access grants or associated app information, or to ask about privacy, email agritech@wakeupfarms.com. Include the email address used for your app account and the information you want removed. We will verify the request and explain any underlying farm records that must be handled separately. An app-account removal request does not itself change your physical device or farm schedules. CloudTrail Event History is retained for its stated period; exported audit records are reviewed separately as part of a removal request.
